Our Flagship Program

The Problem

In Liberia, access to dialysis is limited and highly vulnerable to system failure.

  • Power outages interrupt treatment
  • Water instability compromises clinical safety
  • Services are centralized and inaccessible to many patients

For individuals with kidney failure, these disruptions can be life-threatening.

Dialysis cannot pause.
Yet in many cases, it does.

Our Approach

Renova is building a structured, national system designed for reliability, continuity, and long-term sustainability.

The initiative is organized into three levels:

The Problem of Infrastructure Issues in Renal Care

National Renal & Cardiovascular Health Infrastructure Initiative – Republic of Liberia

Renova Global Foundation is developing Liberia’s first infrastructure-secured national renal system.

The initiative is structured through a three-tier national model:

Tier 1 — National Renal Center (Monrovia, Liberia)

  • Advanced dialysis care
  • National training institute
  • Clinical leadership hub
  • National registry systems

Tier 2 — Regional Renal Hubs

  • Regional treatment access
  • Workforce development
  • Referral coordination

Tier 3 — Community Access Clinics

  • Local treatment access
  • Early-stage intervention
  • Community-based continuity

This is not rapid expansion. This is disciplined national system-building.
